FEATURED NEOLOGISM:

Lithuanian neologism – Radarom!
This neologism is formed by blending the words ‘radaras’ (‘radar’) and ‘darom’ (‘let’s do it’). It was created for a nationwide campaign, first held in Lithuania in February 2023, “Let’s Buy Radars for Ukraine!”, during which €14 million was raised to procure multifunctional tactical radars. The campaign was repeated in 2024 and 2025 to raise funds in support of Ukraine. The neologism is included in the Database of Lithuanian Neologisms: https://ekalba.lt/naujazodziai/

I am a professor at the Institute of Humanities within the Faculty of Human and Social Studies at Mykolas Romeris University. My research primarily focuses on multilingual terminology, exploring its conceptual, linguistic, and pragmatic dimensions. I am actively involved in compiling multilingual language resources, including specialised corpora and terminology databases. Over the past five years, my main focus has been on Lithuanian cybersecurity terminology – developing methods for automatic term extraction, modelling terminological concept systems, analysing linguistic variation and usage patterns, and exploring the terminology needs of Lithuanian language users. Since 2023, I have served as the Lithuanian representative in the User Involvement Committee of CLARIN ERIC (the Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure).
