I work at the intersection of lexicography and sociolinguistics in the following fields of research: As Academy Scientist at the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, I focus on lexical variation and change of the German language in Austria in the context of the Dictionary of historical Bavarian dialects in Austria and South Tyrol (https://www.oeaw.ac.at/acdh/wboe-project-cluster). My work includes dealing with lexical web interfaces (https://lioe.dioe.at/ – the Lexical Information System Austria) as well as methodologically-driven ideas on how to tackle lexical development from the perspective of recent computational innovations, including corpus linguistic analyses and natural language processing. In addition, I am actively engaged in the Special Research Project “German in Austria. Variation – Contact – Perception” (https://www.dioe.at/en/) at the University of Vienna, where I received my PhD in Sociolinguistics.
