With the support of an ITC grant, Dr. Monica Vasileanu participated in the workshop Unlocking evaluative morphology II: Semantic values and pragmatic motivations, held at the University of Alicante (20-22 April 2026). In her presentation, she explored the main patterns of Romanian pejorative blends, examining how this word-formation process is used to convey negative evaluations.

Her participation in the EvalMo II workshop was an enriching experience and an opportunity to include Romanian in cross-linguistic research on evaluative morphology. The discussions allowed the Grantee to delve deeper into the pragmatic dimensions of evaluative formations and laid the foundation for further collaboration. She is grateful to the ENEOLI team for making this scholarly exchange possible.
