With the support of a Dissemination Conference Grant and in cooperation with Giovanni Talarico and Ana Salgado, Ilan Kernerman delivered a talk titled “European Network On Lexical Innovation—ENEOLI” at the 6th Globalex Workshop on Lexicography and Neology (GWLN-6). This full-day event, held in conjunction with the 28th International Conference of the African Association of Lexicography, featured Kernerman’s presentation as its Highlight Talk. The talk, a focal point of GWLN-6, took place during the first session chaired by Prof. Elsabé Taljard, convenor of the Afrilex conference.

The presentation was streamed live on YouTube, attracting over 100 viewers globally. The recording is available here.

Co-authored by Giovanni Tallarico, Rute Costa, Ana Salgado, Ana Ostroški Anić, Annette Klosa-Kückelhaus, Federica Vezzani, Ilan Kernerman, John Humbley, Judit Freixa, Kris Heylen, Petar Božović, Špela Arhar Holdt, Vincent Balnat, and Weronika Woźniak, the presentation provided an in-depth overview of the ENEOLI Action. It covered the initiative’s motivation, key challenges, working groups, tasks, and future directions, with a particular focus on its lexicographic aspects. Special emphasis was placed on Working Group 1 (Multilingual Glossary of Neology) and Task 2.5 (Neology from a Lexicographic Perspective).

Conference participants expressed strong interest in ENEOLI, and the presentation, along with the discussions, helped raise international awareness of the COST Action, particularly regarding multilingual, low-resource languages. The event also facilitated new connections in Africa and Asia, including with members of the CLARIN-ZA South African Centre for Digital Language Resources (SADiLaR) and the Indonesian Agency for Language Development and Cultivation.
