ITC: Applying Corpus Analysis Tools to the Study of Anglicisms in Macedonian Media Texts

With the help of an ITC Conference Grant, Lina Miloshevska attended the 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF APPLIED LINGUISTICS TODAY – MODERN APPROACHES TO OLD AND NEW CHALLENGES,” conference, held at the Faculty of Philology, Belgrade, Serbia, on 23-25.05.2025, where she presented a paper titled “Applying Corpus Analysis Tools to the Study of Anglicisms in Macedonian Media Texts”

“The three days of the international conference, which brought together researchers from various fields of linguistics, were an important event to present my research and network with researchers working on language change and lexical borrowings,” reported Lina.

During the presentation, she discussed the following topics: Corpus-based methods in the study of anglicisms, corpus compilation, Anglicisms contribution to lexical change, anglicisms integration into the Macedonian language, and broader socio-linguistic implications. 

At the conference, she also familiarized the conference attendees with the work of ENEOLI action, its aims and objectives, and discussed opportunities for collaboration within the various working groups.
