With the support of the ENEOLI COST Action (CA22126), Radka Mudrochová presented a paper entitled “La troncation et sa place dans l’enseignement” at the 4th International OPLA Conference – (Socio)linguistics for the Teaching of French, held at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris).

The presentation, prepared together with Helena Horová (University of West Bohemia), focused on clipping as a process of lexical innovation in contemporary French and its place in language teaching. The study combined two complementary perspectives: an analysis of the representation of truncated forms in FLE teaching materials and a questionnaire survey examining learners’ familiarity with and use of these forms.

The contribution highlighted the links between lexical innovation, sociolinguistic variation and language didactics, while opening discussion on how contemporary language practices can be integrated into the teaching of French.

The presentation contributed to the objectives of the ENEOLI COST Action, especially at the intersection of lexical innovation and didactics, and generated fruitful discussions and new perspectives for future collaboration.
