Name: Milena Hebal-Jezierska
Start : 10/04/2026
End: 12/04/2026
Milena Hebal-Jezierska presented paper entitled The Linguistic Image of Women Emerging from Neologisms in Selected West Slavic Languages (Czech, Polish and Slovak) at the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES) Annual Conference, held on April 10–12, 2026 at the University of Birmingham.
The presentation provided an opportunity to share her research and engage in discussion with an international academic audience. The event also contributed to increasing the visibility of the ENEOLI project, allowing it to reach a broader audience and attract interest from potential collaborators. During the conference, Milena Hebal-Jezierska established contacts with Slavists from the United Kingdom and other countries. She also connected with researchers from Lithuania and the Netherlands, which broadened the international scope of her academic network and supported the development of comparative and cross-cultural perspectives in future research. An important aspect of the event was the opportunity to meet scholars from her own country who focus on Slavic countries from a political science perspective. Their discussions indicated potential for interdisciplinary collaboration combining linguistic and political approaches.
The panel discussions in which Milena Hebal-Jezierska participated provided valuable feedback and helped to further contextualize my research within broader scholarly debates. She also attended other sessions, including roundtable discussions, which created a space for exchange of ideas and engagement with current research topics.
Overall, participation in the conference created opportunities for academic exchange and for developing future collaborations across disciplines and countries.
