STSM: Comparative neology of French and Slovak

Name: DANIEL VOJTEK

Start : 25/04/2026
End: 21/05/2026

As part of a Short-Term Scientific Mission, Daniel Vojtek had the chance to spend several weeks at LiLPa (Linguistique, Langues, Parole) in Strasbourg, where he worked closely with Amalia Todirașcu, Christophe Gérard, Francine Gerhard-Krait and Céline Benninger. It was an incredibly enriching experience, both academically and personally.

During his stay, Daniel Vojtek fully enjoyed the vibrant research environment at LiLPa: the laboratories, libraries and bookshops, as well as seminars, workshops, classes and many academic events. The grantee also had the opportunity to attend courses, exchange ideas with students and teachers, and take part in various group activities. All these moments created a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere that encouraged learning, discussion and new perspectives.

The mission was especially productive on the research side. He completed one article, started two new ones, developed new research ideas and strengthened ongoing projects and collaborations. It also helped him broaden existing partnerships, discover new interdisciplinary approaches and learn a great deal from the people the grantee met and worked with.

Beyond the scientific outcomes, this STSM allowed him to build valuable academic, interdisciplinary and personal connections that will continue in the future. Experiences like these show how important and meaningful STSMs can be: they offer young researchers amazing opportunities to grow professionally, open new horizons and become part of an international research community in a truly human and collaborative way.
