STSM: Converging the lexicographic-terminological perspectives within the ENEOLI Multilingual Glossary of Neology

Name: Ilan Kernerman

Start : 31/08/2025
End: 04/09/2025

This STSM focused on analyzing the terminological and lexicographic aspects of the ENEOLI Multilingual Glossary of Neology and identifying the most effective approach for its development.

Ilan Kernerman and the host, Federica Vezzani, worked collaboratively to define the optimal macrostructure of the glossary, along with the data categories and organization of its entry microstructure. They agreed on a three-level macrostructure (Concept–Language–Term) and reviewed over seventy potential data categories. A provisional microstructure was outlined, incorporating fifty categories, and a comprehensive list of open questions was drafted to guide the finalization process.

The grantee and host also prepared the WG1 plenary session that followed shortly afterward, where they presented their findings and engaged in discussion with participants. As a result, the groundwork is now in place to finalize the proposed macro- and microstructure by next month.
