Start : 18/03/2026
End: 21/03/2026

With the support of the ENEOLI COST Action (CA22126), Anne Gensane presented a paper entitled “From the past to the future of the relationship between linguistics and rap lyrics – Insights from the ENEOLI COST Action.” Her talk emphasized the strong links between linguistics and rap, highlighting in particular the connections between neology, argotology, youth language practices, and rap lyrics as a space of intense linguistic creativity.

She also presented, together with Alena Podhorna-Policka and Andrzej Napieralski, a contrastive trilingual study on English borrowed verbs in rap corpora in Polish, Czech, and French. In addition, she introduced a second contrastive bilingual research project focusing on common nouns borrowed from English in Polish and French rap lyrics, further illustrating cross-linguistic variation and adaptation processes. Both of the corpora were on Rapcor.

The talk was well received, generating lively discussions and opening new perspectives for future collaboration.
