FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
I am an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Romance Studies at University of Łódź (Poland) – I took up that position in 2006 when I received my Ph.D. I conduct research in the field of sociolinguistics, in the theoretical and methodological framework of the French school of discourse analysis and praxematic linguistics. My scientific interests include argumentative analysis of the new media discourse (2.0) and political discourse, discursive stereotypes, and verbal violence. I am especially interested in onymic semantics and pragmatics, i.e., in understanding the ways in which proper names are used to influence on the socio-political reality. My current research is on French neological verbs derived from political proper names.
