Wasap/Guasap: It is a word that comes from English and has been adapted to Spanish spelling. It is not yet registered in the academic dictionary, but it is already documented. It is now used practically every day by all Spanish speakers to mean ‘message’. It is a metonymic word that owes its name to the name of the online chat application (WhatsApp), but its frequency of use is very high.

Collaborator in the lexicographic project “Parâmetros para a construção de um dicionário trilíngue constrastivo Espanhol-Português-Libras para estudantes brasileiros universitários”, at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. With numerous official certifications in courses and languages.
