FEATURED NEOLOGISM:

I have two favourite neologisms: grubancypancja (Polish for fat liberation) and gordibuena (Spanish for an attractive fat woman). The first one takes its origin in two Polish words: grubość (fatness) and empancypacja (empancipation; liberation) and was first used by a Polish fat liberationist, Natalia Skoczylas, in her podcast Vingardium Grubiosa. The second one comes from Spanish ‘Gordita’ (fat, diminutive) and buena (attractive) and originated on a body positive website — Weloversize around 2017.

Soon-to-be PhD in Linguistics interested in discourse and translation studies. Fluent speaker of three languages (Polish, Spanish, English), currently working on the discourse of online communities that perceive themselves as marginalized and inclusive communication — studying neologism is a must-do in these lines of research!
