FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
nieve marina (“marine snow”, ocean biodiversity). This specialised term would be appropriate in a poetic text, as the beautiful metaphor combines associations of whiteness and slow falling snow with the beneficial nutrition received by fish in the depths of the sea.
Among other degrees, Beatriz de la Fuente Marina holds a Master’s degree in Terminology from the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona (UPF). She currently works as a full-time professor (Profesora Titular) in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at
the University of Salamanca, where she teaches scientific and technical translation. She is a member of REALITER and has participated in the compilation of several dictionaries, in areas such as alternative financing, environment, cinema, or climbing. Find more information about me here.
