I have a Master’s degree in Slavic Studies (Czech Language and Literature and Bulgarian Language and Literature) from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (M.A. thesis: “Neologisms in popular music (on material from Bulgarian and Czech music magazines)”). I continued to work in the field during my PhD studies at Charles University in Prague. In 2009 I defended PhD in Slavonic Philology. Since 2012 I have been working at the Department of Slavonic Linguistic and Lexicography in the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the Czech Academy of Sciences. My research interests are focused on modern Bulgarian language, modern Czech language, neology, lexicology, word formation and comparative study of the innovation processes and tendencies in Slavic languages. I have participated in a number of research projects on neology and neography. I am the author of a monograph on the topic “Innovation processes in the Czech and Bulgarian language Situation (Based on media language material)” and of a number of scientific publications on lexical innovation and innovation processes.
