The Slovak neologism konicajti originates from the 1970s. It is an instance of authorial individualism or an occasionalism found in Blahoslav Hečko’s translation of Raymond Queneau. The word refers to mounted police officers. Structurally, it is a blend of composition and blending, consisting of the elements kôň (“horse,” rendered here as kon-) and -cajti, the second part of the word policajti (“policemen”). Thus, by analogy: policajti – konicajti.
