FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
The French verb bisounourser, derives from the name of a cuddly toy and a character in the animated film of the same title (“Bisounours”). It expresses the idea of being childish, irresponsible and even acting naively or unrealistically, just like a teddy bear. Graduated in Romance philology from the University of Lodz and in management and production engineering from the Technical University of Lodz. His master’s thesis dealt with the confluence of neology and terminology in French management language. He is currently a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Lodz. He is preparing his dissertation on verb neology in discursive perspective in French and Italian. His interests mainly focus on neology in Romance languages, specialized languages and discourse analysis.
