FEATURED NEOLOGISM:

AI-washing: It’s incredible how everything is now “AI,” even when classic algorithms are used. The same thing happened in the 80s and 90s. In between, the term was avoided at all costs during the AI winter, as it was associated with expensive, impractical toy problems.

Member of the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam. Working on many related problems in text understanding, and generative summarization and simplification of text, in the context of access to large corpora. We’re building various resources, in particular on neologisms for onomastic wordplay, and running related workshops.
