FEATURED NEOLOGISM:

Krindž (eng.”cringe)” – a way to describe a particularly unpleasant feeling, due to elements that might be genuinely stressful, or completely banal. The expression became popular on social media, especially via platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, amongst the younger generation of Internet users. The expression has since then, become a staple in Internet communication, having been transcribed into multiple languages, including Serbian, without any translation. Despite the fact, there are translational equivalents for the term cringe, it is simply used in its original English form, thus making it not only a neologism, but an anglicism. In the post, pandemic era, “krindž” is used in spoken language, as much as it is online.

Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, she graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philology, Cátedra de Estudios Ibéricos, and subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Communications and Public Relations. In parallel with her academic career, she founded a digital platform dedicated to sports reporting and commentary. This initiative reflects her broader commitment to bridging academic research on media discourse with contemporary journalistic practice, particularly within evolving digital communication environments.
