Lithuanian neologism – mainytuvės. This new word is a derivative of the suffix -tuvė, derived from the Lithuanian verb mainyti.

Mainytuvės – are the “barter” – an action in which books, clothes or other items are exchanged. This promotion (usually organized on social networks) contributes to the sustainable use of items.

Jurgita Mikelionienė (Dr. Philol., Assoc. Prof.) is currently working at the Kaunas University of Technology. Her research interests include word-formation, terminology, corpus linguistics, language technologies and neology. PhD thesis title: “New Lexicon in the Lithuanian Language (on the basis of 1991-1996 years periodicals corpus)”. He is an expert (terminologist) of the State Commission of the Lithuanian Language.
