FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
maksufestival (tax festival or tax spree): refers to a situation where a government simultaneously plans or introduces multiple new taxes and tax increases, often perceived as overwhelming, excessive, or poorly coordinated. The term is often used critically to highlight dissatisfaction with aggressive or indiscriminate taxation policies.
lennukilt raha külvama (to scatter money from an airplane): to distribute support funds evenly across the entire target group, without considering the specific needs of individuals
I’m a Senior Computational Lexicographer working at the Institute of the Estonian Language. I’m compiling a general language dictionary of Estonian, at the moment focusing on synonyms, collocations and English equivalents. I am also responsible for developing and updating the biggest corpus of Estonian – the Estonian National Corpus.
