FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
Ecoscaping. This term, coined in English, combines the prefix eco- (linked to ecology and the environment) with the base -scaping (as in landscaping). Structurally, it is a blend that signals both continuity with established gardening terminology and a shift towards ecological awareness.
I am a doctoral candidate in the PhD Programme Lenguas, Textos y Contextos at the University of Granada. My research focuses on audio description of parks and gardens through a lexicographic-semantic model, combining corpus analysis, accessibility, and cognitive approaches to discourse. I hold a BA in Translation and Interpreting (2022) and a Master’s in Professional Translation (2023), both oriented toward accessibility and multimodality. My work examines how linguistic choices shape the verbal representation of natural spaces and their visuality, with the aim of designing clear, coherent, and engaging audio descriptions.
