FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
My favourite neologism is “astroturismo”, a term that has emerged to describe a growing form of tourism focused on the observation of stars and astronomical phenomena. This neologism interests me because it reflects a new trend in the tourism sector that is closely connected with nature and science. You can find out more about this and similar neologisms in the article “Neologismos del turismo e ideología: la sostenibilidad y la interculturalidad en la elaboración terminológica.”
I am a student of Hispanic Philology. I have focused particularly on linguistics, a field in which I have published reviews (in ‘Revista de Investigación Lingüística’) and presented papers and posters at conferences. I am also a collaborator on the OBNEO project at Pompeu Fabra University; my work involves collecting neologisms from the Spanish press.
