FEATURED NEOLOGISM:
My favourite neologism is “Grin”, which means “lie”. It’s Ivorian French. It comes from Bambara (Mali) and in that language means “a gathering of young people around a cup of tea”. It appeared around the last five years and has grown with social networks.
I am Mouktar TRAORE, a linguist lexicographer working on bilingual lexicography (Bambara—French) based on the Corpus Bambara de Référence. My work involves using statistics to address polysemy, neology, and collocations. https://llacan.cnrs.fr/
