I’m a professor for German linguistics at the University of Strasbourg (France). In my research, I focus on lexical change in German and French, deonomastics and the history of German studies in Alsace. I have published two monographs, one dealing with the formation of shortened words in contemporary German (Kurzwortbildung im Gegenwartsdeutschen, Olms 2011), the other on the use of first names as nouns in French and German and their integration into the lexicon from the 12th to the 21st century (L’appellativisation du prénom. Étude contrastive allemand-français, Narr 2018). Since 2018, I have been co-editor of Neologica (ed. Garnier, Paris), a journal devoted entirely to any aspects of lexical innovation (https://classiques-garnier.com/neologica-en.html).
