(FR) Lors de cette présentation en langue française, j’exposerai d’abord les raisons qui nous ont amenés à réaliser cet ouvrage, nos objectifs ainsi que les apports de l’approche plurilingue et de la perspective historique dans le cadre des réflexions actuelles sur le genre et le sexe dans les langues européennes. Je présenterai ensuite les principaux résultats de mon étude consacrée aux débats récents sur l’écriture inclusive en France.

(EN) First of all, I will outline the reasons that led us to realize this volume, our objectives as well as the pertinence of a plurilingual approach and a diachronic perspective for ongoing research on genus and gender in European languages. I will then present the main results of my study about recent debates on the so-called ‘écriture inclusive’ in France. The presentation will be held in French.

Vincent Balnat is professor of German linguistics at the Département d’études allemandes of the Université de Strasbourg since 2022. His research focuses on the current lexical evolution in German and French, deonomastics and the history of German studies in Alsace. He is co-editor of the journal Neologica.
